The administration keeps saying, "Kim committed to denuclearization". This is false, Kim committed to the complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. This means that South Korea has to denuclearize to North Korean levels. I doubt South Korea agreed to this.
-
It could also mean that North Korea will denuclearize on pace with all the world's nuclear powers as required under the non-proliferation treaty. Either way, definitely not a commitment to give up any nuclear weapons or industrial capabilities any time soon.
-
Absolutely. I was focused on the text of the agreement between Trump and Kim. The question is, once Trump concedes Kim is not abiding by the agreement, what will his response be? He's engaging in a trade war with China; an important partner in future NK/US diplomacy

The failure to repatriate POW remains seems to be confirmation that Kim was never in this as a good faith actor. Will Trump escalate now in order to save face with the red hats? Or will he reframe his past rhetoric to be an “I knew it all along”?
-
Or third option, be so desperate for a win that he delivers huge concessions to NOKO, either above or below the table?
