If he's using Marxist interchangeably with the "cultural marxist" concept, then borders could be an issue for them. Borders are a power mechanism that are used to separate people and reinforce the control of the ruling class, under that ideology.

“Marxist” means Marxist. If one means something other than Marxist than don’t say “Marxist.” People might think you mean Marxist.
-
While I don't know the exact evolution from Marxism to Leninism , wasn't the objective of socialism and communism to create a global classless society that would effectively be borderless and abandon nationalism?
-
The theoretical endstate of Marxist revolution is global communism. But no communist government allowed free movement of people and goods with countries they didn’t control. Quite the opposite. And, AFAIK, Marx didn’t recommend it or anything like it.
-
Are you saying those countries... "weren't real socialism"?
-
Ha! No.

Hmm, the entire tweet mimics Trump’s usual talking points, with the exception of the Marxist reference. That degree of massive historical ignorance is all on Charlie.

Words are useful when they have meaning. I’m on the side of meaning in a never ending battle against people who want to use words like Marxist, terrorism, fascist, and socialism as “thing I don’t like.”
-
Yes! I do wish people would hijack words less often and be more careful when using them - but I doubt that is important in today’s ongoing tribal struggle. It’s all about “winning.”
