Think US international relations are in a bad place? July 1: Mexico election July 11-12: NATO summit July 16: Trump-Putin meeting The decline’s already substantial, but there’s so much farther to fall. Global reaction just starting. This sucks.

Perhaps the worst part of his presidency. We can fix ourselves domestically or we have no one to blame but ourselves. The torch for international leadership and goodwill may fade and never be relit.

I agree. Bad domestic policy can hurt people, but can also be reversed. Break the world order and it can't be put back together. US can recover, but not all the way. The world now knows that America could become an unreliable partner every four years. Less trust indefinitely.

Yup. Can't say I'm optimistic it'll go well. (I should've included that one. Thanks)

2018 is shaping up to be a bad year for American foreign policy.

What's Trump going to throw at the NATO summit, apart from a tantrum?
