Just hand over House hearings to Sean Hannity and Rachel Maddow. Results basically the same. But they'd word the "tough" questions exactly how passionate partisans want, instead of these odd simulacrums.

Can't bear to listen to either of them. Maddow is undoubtedly brighter, but the delivery method of fox and msnbc falls on my old ears as fingernails on a chalkboard.

When it comes to news, I'm more of a reader than a watcher. Perhaps that's one reason why I find Congressional questions that ape TV opinion journalists grating.

Always prefer reading to listening to news. Daughter keeps sending me podcasts, but most of them have something grating; 'musical interludes', speakers' voices, adverts, or joking around. I want the news. I'll read it myself, tyvm.

Different people, different preferences. I like podcasts, but that's because I like the joking around (and I primarily listen to podcasts about sports, not politics). Also, it's a good thing to do while walking the dog.
