Argh. Kid won't nap. This was going to be really interesting. Maybe pick up later (or write an article).

The
@PressSec also needs to explain why she made this statement as an official announcement on behalf of the@POTUS and not on her personal account as@SarahHuckabee#LockHerUpThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Disagree. SCOTUS ruling was a very narrow one that essentially said an individual *artist* could not be forced to create something that was against his religious beliefs. They had already ruled LGBTQ could not be discriminated against. PresSec was thrown out for being an asshole.

Interestingly, it is legal to refuse service based on political party, political speech, etc, as those are not protected classes. At least in Colorado and a few other states it is illegal to deny service to glbt because they ARE a protected class.

This isn't interesting. Political views are a choice, race and sexual orientation are not. Political discrimination not protected.

Not exactly the same. The gay couple was refused service for a particular ceremony, not refused service at the bakery in general.

Not really. Lying shills are not a protected class.

Mmmmmm, being gay isn’t a choice. Refusing service to a gay person is bigoted, no? A govt employee lying to the public and having retaliation thrown at her isn’t bigoted, it’s a consequence.

SCOTUS said CO bakery was denied its civil rights b/c member of CO Civil Rights Commission compared Christian beliefs of bakery's owner to Nazism. This didn't equally protect civil rights of both the plaintiffs and bakery owner.

Here’s the difference: When a proprietor bars a customer, based on choices to lie to the public, in support of a president who is a pathological liar, it’s not personal. But when a proprietor bars a customer, based on no other choice but to be a whole human, THAT is personal...

So your position is it’s fine to refuse service to someone when you believe they are guilty of immortality, but not fine to refuse service to someone based on your own immoral position. Good luck with that. What about the business owner that thinks gay marriage is immoral?
