Problems with US immigration system have been going on for a while. Deliberately separating parents and children as a deterrent was instituted by the Trump administration this spring.

Not just forcibly separates kids, but has no plan in place to reunite the kids and parents. Also, has a policy preventing anyone from touching the kids to comfort them. This is the hell done in our name.
