In light of this, every NFL player should kneel for the anthem. Does the U.S stand for freedom?
-
-
-
They absolutely can. They have freedom of choice. No one is saying they can't. They simply do not have freedom of consequence from said choice.

@The305MVP Forced nationalism isn't "freedom". -
They can stay in the locker room. There is no forced nationalism.
-
That is pathetic and racist. As a life long
@NFL fan I am done with them, we'll see what a boycott does.. -
Racist? C'mon now! Drop in attendance, apparel sales, and declining viewership is the reason for this decision.
-
This decision will not help those issues. The product is garbage. Garbage products usually have declining viewership, apparel sales and attendance. I used to watch 4 NFL games a week in the 90s. Now I don't watch 2 NFL games a season.
-
For decades I watched MNF religiously. I couldn't count how many Sundays I spent watching football ALL DAY! THOUSANDS on apparel. Like you, I watched at least 4 games a week for many years. I watch no more. The owners killed it for me.

I'm sorry there are other ways to show activism than to disrespect our nations flag and anthem! If the players want to disrespect our nation they can do it on their own time, not on the
@NFL time or on the fans time! We pay the salaries essentially of athletes, show some RESPECT! -
Samey, curious to know: have either the flag or anthem spoken up to say they feel disrespected?

-
You are disrespecting the fallen women and men who have died so we can have a country... so we can watch football freely without having to worry about stadium attacks and terror from foreign invaders
-
Have the “fallen” men and women spoken up as well? One would think since the USA was founded on protest and those who serve(d) do so to protect the rights of its citizens that they would actually disagree with your sentiment.
-
Fallen soldiers meaning they died for our rights and freedoms and if you can’t respect the fact the flag and anthem means a lot to millions Americans maybe you should move out of the USA
-
The flag, anthem & any other symbols aren’t representative of every individual since everyone doesn’t share the same American experience my friend. That’s the central idea of why Kaep started this means of protesting.
-
So your agreeing that kneeling for the anthem shows disrespect to our flag because some hold it in higher regards than others? See we live in the same world just you have to understand the flag is sacred in America... people are tired of seeing activism on behalf of it

NFLPA is the worst union in all of sports
-
How so?
-
They lack a spine and seen to always lose in every situation.
-
they have less bargaining power due to the nature of the sport. it's not like in the NBA which is a player driven league
-
Yet they make millions of dollars each year. I would say that's a good thing. The NFLPA is still one of the strongest union in the country. They manage to get more days off for their players and that's a HUGE win.
-
not every player makes millions. the union represents all the backups and practice squad guys too. those guys need it the most and get absolutely hosed
-
This is true but it’s still one of the stronger unions. Police unions and athletic unions are the strongest unions and the only ones white collar workers accept. Try being in a blue collar union and getting hosed daily by internal politics and nepotism.
-
I work for a union where seniority, hard work, and skill sets mean absolutely nothing. Some kid can come in and get more work than me because of who his dad or uncle is/was. I’d say fuck unions but my wage, benefits, and retirement would be nothing without them.
