Facts. If we can’t “bring politics into sports” by kneeling then they shouldn’t “bring politics into sports” by playing the racist anthem

Google the 3rd verse of the National anthem. Francis Scott key was the writer of the anthem and he was a slave owner.

Damn near everyone that was at the head of the government owned slaves even washington that has no bearing on what it means as a whole. Not to mention the made it so any black man that served during the war long enough earned his freedom also slavery was going on long before

It's actually not the third verse of the National Anthem. It's the third Stanza in the Poem "The Defense of McHenry" from which the Anthem was taken. That stanza has never been an official part of the Anthem. Only the first stanza is used.

If Germany’s national anthem included a stanza from a Hitler poem, what that still be okay?

Funny, my husband served for 13 years and he sees no issue with players kneeling! He swore to defend the constitution not a piece of fabric or a poem turned into a song!

I served as well and my problem is simply I watch football to have 3 hours where I don't have to see everything that's wrong in the world it's my mini retreat.

There isn't any football being played during the anthem so I don't see what you're getting at. Nothing is interrupting you watching football.
