The forest cover trends have changed in Uganda from 2015, there is a slight increase in the forest & this is attributed to massive restoration planting, establishment of tree plantations & removal of encroachers from forests. However there is much effort needed

Currently, there is an ongoing opening of forest boundary & planting of permanent pillars in different central forest reserves to restore the integrity of forests and reduce conflicts with adjacent communities.

Uganda's forest cover increases. The 2017 Biomass monitoring report shows an increase to 9.9% of the total land cover. This is a result of establishing more commercial forest plantations and wood lots.
