  4. Schindler’s List, starring Liam Neeson in the true story of a German businessman who saves the lives of Polish Jews during the Holocaust, opens in theaters OTD in 1993. The film received 12 nominations. winning 7 including the first for Steven Spielberg.

    In the film, Schindler sees a girl in red during the liquidation of the Kraków ghetto. The red coat is one of the few instances of color used in this predominantly black and white film.
