When I was 20 I decided to run for office to fight for + Albertans. When Jason Kenney was 20 he fought to overturn a spousal law in San Francisco that allowed gay men to visit their dying partners in the hospital during the AIDS epidemic.

ok i finally watched this and i am floored at the bullshit that Ellen let him spout uninterrupted. He's concocting an alternative history here and Ellen didn't challenge him on the facts one bit. let me explain...

also nodded to young candidates running for office. "But I think it is really part of the larger question about who should run and how we should run and I think it is great. You can be young and run for office. You can have joy in life and run for office."

"But, whether you like their policies or not, [the NDP] haven't governed on anger. They successfully transitioned from an angry campaign to a dispassionate, almost positive, governing style. While times were tough, there was a sense of optimism in how the NDP governed.”

There's a reason why Doug Ford and Jason Kenney hold rallies together. The UCP is 100% going to do this too.

In 2015, Albertans called on to lead when it mattered most. In 2019, it’s going to take all of us to make sure Rachel & her team can keep making life better & moving AB forward. Today’s your last chance to chip in & get the 2018 tax credit.

  9. It’s $.89 at the gas station outside my house in Calgary. Is that because Ontario got rid of its Cap and Trade system? Or do you think it might have something to do with the international price of oil?

As a newlywed I got to say, it’s in poor taste to go after someone’s wedding for cheap political points- and it’s rich coming from someone who claims he wants to debate policies not people.

When he reduces the anger over his decades long opposition to the community & policy to “a few hundred people agitating on Twitter” Kenney gambles that his view mirrors an Alberta majority. I hope he is wrong.

Olsen AND Schweitzer will play the socially progressive card throughout the campaign. Neither are naive and they know that Kenney courted the so-con vote for his leadership bid. They’ll want their pound of flesh and neither of the two will be able to hold back the wolves.

Here in Alberta, we have one leader who spent two decades fighting against gay marriage, help separate dying AIDS patients from their families (then said it brought him closer to God) and still refuses to meet with LGTBQ organizations. And we have Premier Notley:

I guess the Q is: If you're going to start a "war room" to fight the Tides Foundation, what does it means for all of the non-pipeline work they do, including for LGBTQ rights, the elderly and disabled, and financial education for women in developing countries.
