Even fewer carry a tourniquet and know how to use it.
Don’t need one if you wear a belt. Use a belt, or shoe laces if they are long enough. But best to use a belt. Just need to close off the artery enough to get to help.

Can it work in a pinch? Probably, but a good tourniquet is always superior. I strongly recommend taking a "stop the bleed" class next time it's offered. The life you save could be someone you love.

So you suggest taking a class, awesome I’ll remember that the next time I see one around. Oh wait, using a belt in a hurry is what I was taught. See not everyone stays prepared. Using a belt may not be the best option but a good nylon belt works just like cloth and a stick.
