We only remember those who have had an impact to our way of life as if is today. Also placing history in books is a great way, but look at other nations at how they ban/outlaw reading or creation of books. History can be easily rewritten. But removing public items is harder.

I think these protests have proven that removing public items is quite easy.

Who’s removing them though? The cities or the protestors. One is a legal action and the other is illegal. The only problem is that the cities are removing them out of fear. Local business owners like in raliegh removed theirs but again out of fear of losing business.
