Regardless, if your chances of winning an election, you should not and could not be a part of a board that is voting to remove someone from the position of which you are challenging. As your vote would be strictly biased.

That would be like me running for CEO of a major company and being on the Board of Directors voting to remove the current CEO. If I am the only candidate for the job, would you think its fair if I said Yes for removal. I am sure it happens all the time, but no one says anything.
