I guess it shouldn’t be but it’s still stunning to me that state senate Republicans today passed yet another sweeping corporate tax cut while stiff arming a decent pay raise for teachers. Shameful. - RC
The average salary for a school teacher in NC is $53,975.00 and you talk about shameful. More like you need to be fighting for first responders. But hey, you'll never respond to this. Average starting pay for a Local PD officer is >= 34,000.00 | FD >= 27k.

Now I was all for helping the teachers out more because that's what folks talk to me about and wouldn't you know, when I did the research myself, I found that they are worried about Net pay, yet they get paid more in net than your officer that puts his life on the line for them.
