The more I learn about the 'craft' of writing, the harder it is to actually write 😭😬🤔

I think I just found my new favourite first line in a book “The river flowed both ways.” 💙

This book! What an emotional, gripping read. I was invested in every single character. Perfectly executed.

I hate when people say 'shitty first drafts.' I love my first drafts because.... they exist. That's it. A first draft is such an accomplishment. It may lack polish and refinement, but by no means is it shitty.

Ok I had to cheat and use a screenshot because my B & W kindle doesn’t do this cover justice. What a emotional roller coaster of a novel. Utterly breathtaking. 5 big stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love it when the right book comes along at the right time. I’d been in a reading slump and this story yanked me right out of it. A propulsive, engrossing read. Can’t wait for next book!

“We don’t need another novel about [x]” might be the most infuriating, idiotic, and anti-intellectual idea about writing that crosses my TL on the regular. Just—stop.

Funny because, as woman, I am 100% confident I know exactly where the line is between acceptable and inappropriate behaviour towards men. I don't know whether to laugh or cry that they can't figure this out.

A stunning, perfectly executed, manipulative little book. As a mother, the book got to me on so many levels. What a way to end the reading year!! Can’t wait to read what has in store for me next.
