So i might get some heat for this comment but if we are been honest, this ISN'T the Charlotte Hornets. It's the Bobcats. The Hornets moved to New Orleans. I think its a bit disingenuious to pretend otherwise.
-
there is truth to this
-
Well, I know no one cares, but the Pelicans gave up the rights to the history of the Charlotte Hornets when we changed our name. The New Orleans Hornets and Pelicans are for New Orleans, and the Charlotte Hornets, Bobcats, and then Hornets are for Charlotte.
-
"In 2013, the New Orleans' franchise announced it would rebrand itself the New Orleans Pelicans, ultimately returning the Hornets name, records, and official history (spanning from 1988 to 2002) to Charlotte."
-
I do care. It might be because I’m Australian but the whole idea of giving back your history just seems odd. I wonder if Charlotte fans feel these Hornets and the originals are the same. Maybe it’s just a cultural difference.
