How I love reading about the latest discoveries that the telescopes, beginning with Hubble, have provided. It truly is a whole new world.

Any word of confirmation on when Webb will be ready for deployment?
-
They had to postpone launch from October of this year to March / June 2019, Unfortunately.

Will the telescope be able to detect biomarkers like methane in exoplanets' atmosphere?
-
Methane isn't a biomarker, but ozone is. And no, the Webb telescope can't image exoplanet atmospheres by itself, but it can be used in a synthetic aperture configuration with other telescopes, which can together. IF it deploys fully, which frankly I think is a longshot.
