Get in, we're going to space! On Dec. 18, our team lowered the @ariane5 nosecone down over Webb using a laser-guided crane system, and locked it in place for launch. Liftoff is set for Dec. 24 at 7:20 AM ET. #UnfoldTheUniversepic.twitter.com/ElHz9FEPFh

Correction: Encapsulation of Webb inside its rocket was announced as complete on Dec. 18, but work was completed late on Dec. 17.

Maybe also announce the launch the same way? Would lower the stress levels of many astrophysics on December 24th.

Not sure what you're looking for specifically, but Real Engineering recently did a great video about JWST and some of the instruments, construction techniques and technology used. Some interesting info!https://youtu.be/aICaAEXDJQQ

I tweeted this but am commenting, hoping you'll be able to give me an answer. L2 point is significantly further away from Earth than the ISS, with the huge sun shield on the JWST, will we be able to see the telescope from Earth like we can the ISS and other satellites?
