I know I could easily just look it up, but I like getting help under NASA’s tweets. Can someone recommend me a good and “cheap” telescope that’ll at least let me see the Moon in good detail? I’d also like to at least see Mars or Jupiter.

Hello Glenn! You're right that pure gold is very soft. Webb's mirrors are actually protected by a thin layer of glass on top of the gold to protect them.
