  Well, the black hole in the middle of the galaxy forms first, then matter gets spit out at the equator then gets sucked up and down into the poles.   As a kid I could never understand how the infinite universe could be expanding. My Dad, a Doctor and brilliant, tried to explain the concept of the universe in motion to me. The theories still astound me. Thank you for sharing all that you do

  Was just watching @novapbs on how our galaxy collided with & absorbed a smaller one a few billion years ago- (Gala Enceladus). Next time, our Milky Way will be absorbed by the Andromeda galaxy.
