      Why does it have to be launched from Africa? Isn’t it risky to put it on a boat for 5,000 miles? Just curious because we have numerous launch facilities in the US.

      Webb's launch site of Europe's Spaceport is in Kourou, French Guiana, on the northeastern coast of South America. This site is part of @ESA's contribution to the mission. It's also near the equator, where the spin of the Earth can help give an additional push for launch 🚀
