          Thank you! The 5-layer piece is our sunshield. It keeps our telescope (which is sensitive to heat/infrared light) very cold and shaded from the light of the Earth/Sun/Moon. Read more here: https://jwst.nasa.gov/content/observatory/sunshield.html …
