What’s the best way to make a really powerful telescope? Build a big mirror! #NASAWebb has the largest mirror of its kind ever built. So big that it can’t fit inside a rocket without folding up. This unfolding procedure was recently tested successfully: https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2020/nasa-s-james-webb-space-telescope-full-mirror-deployment-a-success …pic.twitter.com/95dKWc9OdT

Just launch it already! Over a decade past expected the launch date and I’ve lost count over how many billions it went over budget 🚀

That looks quite simple. Was it the sun shield that you were having more trouble with? How's that coming along?

Part of it is the folding up, which wouldn't be necessary by the time this thing launches. Could have gone up on Starship.

I wish our original timeline was intact so we could see something positive this year instead of all this negativity with the virus. I would love to see the James Webb telescope get launched In 2020 but I will be patient for 2021

I really can’t wait to see the thing launched! And REALLY REALLY can’t wait to see it’s first images. Can @elonmusk and @SpaceX launch it, and now you have bigger rockets can you make a bigger better and cheaper one quicker that we can use to see better and further please? 🔭✨
