How will this change our views of our nearest neighboring planetary systems? Will we be able to see their planets better?
While Webb will be able to search for planets around some of our nearest neighbor stars, any planets Webb finds will look like small dots of light. Webb's forte will be providing detailed information about the composition of atmospheres of exoplanets using spectroscopy.
