I cannot think of a time in my lifetime when we needed a Sagan or a Feynman to speak about science and facts and evidence more than we do now.

As a child I remember watching the Royal Institute Christmas lectures that Carl Sagan gave. They awoke a love of astronomy and science in me that 40 years later is still as strong. Happy birthday Carl Sagan and thank you for introducing me to critical thinking.

Who also when giving his pale blue dot speech put into perspective the rediculous posturing of those who claim to lead us. We need another Carl Sagan to inspire and communicate to the next generation the wonders of the heavens and the lessons to be found all around us. RIP Carl
