Here, technicians inspect #Webb's stowed sunshield membranes after acoustic testing. Acoustic testing exposes the spacecraft to forces and stress similar to liftoff, allowing engineers to better prepare it for the rigors of spaceflight.

We were constrained with Hubble by Earth occultations, this big thing that blocked our view. It was designed to be serviced by Shuttle, so had to be in LEO. Thank goodness it was. Benefit of LaGrangian and halo orbits: clear view, cost? Better work first time, cause it’s gone.
