If you read this report, it mentions the possibility of another years delay due to “the removal of a science instrument” (p58)
The instruments have passed all their environmental and cryogenic tests and are working as required. The IRB only mentioned instrument removal as a hypothetical issue when they discussed their schedule assessment.
