And later today, Jupiter will make the solar system's largest jack-o'-lantern face, thanks to shadows from two of its moons! Check it out in our "Eyes on the Solar System" 3D simulator: go.nasa.gov/3DBbMLq
A screenshot of a web application shows a simulated view of the planet Jupiter, where two fuzzy, circular shadows cast on the planet almost appear to form the eyes of a face. Also visible are the on-screen controls of the Eyes on the Solar System simulation software.

A nebula glows brightly against the darkness of space in an image from the Hubble Space Telescope. This planetary nebula is the relic of a dying, Sun-like star. The nebula's glowing gas forms several visually interlocking rings in an hourglass shape. Where the rings meet at the center of the nebula, smaller circles of gas appear to take the form of a single human eye, open wide. The entire formation appears to be glaring at the viewer.
