#CountdownToMars What is the further procedure if there is a successful landing but a connection cannot be established with the rover?
We'd look at our telemetry from before landing and see what clues we get. When problems occur on the spacecraft, built-in fault protection systems get us to a safe configuration. We'd work with the orbiter operators and see what we can modify to get the signal to come across.
