My terms are kind of crap, been awhile since I was in school, but if ice comets hit the moon and deposit water then that water is distributed and remains it's not impossible that a thin layer of hematite could form. I doubt it's too thick, that would REALLY blow my mind.

It did have Life on the moon till a great meteor storm came 2 our solar system and destroyed all life on all the other planets except Earth.the moon was pushed closer 2 the earth to act like a shield.but a few meteors still hit the Earth n caused the distinction of the dinosaurs
