Looks like it is trying to back out again. Time to move the shovel and push down. Why not pile dirt on top and push down to get a better chance of compressing the loose soil?
Hey Brian, you're close! The soil beneath InSight has proven to be cement-like duricrust, with dirt granules that stick together. So the team's next moves may be to provide friction the mole needs by scraping or chopping nearby soil to move it into the pit it's in.
