The wording makes it sound like this is an actual view seen by NASA Spitzer... and not an animation. Curious: brighter than the absolute magnitude of a trillion stars... or the luminosity of stars seen from Earth?

These short flares in OJ287 have the luminosity of a trillion stars. (They appear as mag 12.5 from Earth, but the galaxy is 3.5x10^9 light years away. With an absolute magnitude of -27.6 (at 10 pc = 32.6 light years), the flashes would appear brighter than the Sun.)
