Electric currents, triggered by interactions between solar winds and charged particles from Saturn's moons, spark the auroras and heat the upper atmosphere. (As with Earth's northern lights, studying auroras tells scientists what's going on in the planet's atmosphere.)

These giants are producing their own heat, and it should be obvious why. The enormous atmospheric pressures at lower altitudes along with significant gravitational forces and likely very hot cores. Jupiter and Saturn are "failed" companion Suns, but still generate heat.

If that was the case than the core should be hot and not the outer, layers of Jupiter’s atmosphere
