Launch in July, arrive in February? That’s much faster than I would’ve have guessed. Is that the fastest it’s possible to get to mars? How often are Earth and mars positioned for the shortest flights?
It all goes back to good ole F=ma. There's only so much force current rockets can produce. Depending on the mass of the spacecraft, that gives you the acceleration it can achieve. With current technology, we can launch for Mars during a three-week window once every 26 months.

Let’s bring back the nuclear thermal rocket engine project rover from the 60s we can get to Mars with chemical engines but with this basic nuclear engine we could get there in less than half the time why not get serious about this
