Yes. Our media is for everyone but, for things of this nature, NASA focuses on connecting with the tax paying citizens of the United States (and their children) that fund these missions.

Tax-paying citizens of the USA... But you won't check out whether the kids are from tax-paying families or families in economic difficulties. Or no chance for kids from poor families? Kids are not on board. Is tax payment really necessary? (I have no kids, though. Just thinking.)
