At some point words "cold" or "coldest" does not tell the story of lifeless atoms. Particles so exhausted, so depleted of energy of any kind they are literally dead. And decay into primordial stuff. As when a daughter is but a twinkle in her daddy's eye. (not physically exist)

I remember back in school I was speculating a state of matter, close to absolute zero, when atoms would break down to create a more condense state of matter, similar in properties to high energy plasma and possibly what under specific conditions created the Big bang.

That became basis for some of my SciFi stories, which featured this substance, which I called "Cryo-Plasma". One of the weapons in my stories was a rail gun that shot "Cryo-Plasma" pellets to a devasteting effect.
