What qualities would define an interstellar object as weird? Unpredictability?
This object is “weird” because of its characteristics (ie. it is outgassing, but doesn’t show a coma or tail, as expected)
And most importantly, the insanely weird velocity/acceleration that can not be explained by our present understanding of science that govern the behaviour of celestial bodies in space, given the four fundamental forces. I'm no astronomer/physicist. So, i maybe wrong!
Some probable candidate factors: dark energy, spacetime curvature etc. @NASA @NASAJPL would know them better. Well, they may prefer to withhold information.
