What qualities would define an interstellar object as weird? Unpredictability?
This object is “weird” because of its characteristics (ie. it is outgassing, but doesn’t show a coma or tail, as expected)
How can we know it's the first interstellar object to pass through our system?
Did this originate from the Oort cloud? I'm interested in Oort's theory in any aspect, though being honest I first heard about it from Anne McCaffrey's Pern series 
Main belt asteroids tend to stay in the asteroid belt (especially the big ones). Gravitational forces, collisions or the Yarkovsky Effect can change their trajectories, but it's important to note that no known asteroids pose a threat to Earth.
