Okay, I give...it’s departure date is variable, but it’s arrival date is fixed... How and why?
-
Keeping a constant arrival date is highly desirable as it simplifies operations. That's not always possible. It depends on available launch vehicle performance, availability of communications during EDL, and allowable entry speed requirements among other mission constraints.
