I’m the first outer space robotic explorer to study in-depth the "inner space" of #Mars: its crust, mantle & core. Just how will I do it? See this one-minute video and learn all about my mission. More info: https://go.nasa.gov/2DFXKd3 pic.twitter.com/ubjYVctNAc

Is a single seismometer enough to make meaningful measurements of Mars's core makeup, or will JPL need to deploy more on the opposite side of the planet to determine how seismic waves interact with the interior?

SEIS will give my team a fairly precise picture of the structure and composition of the interior, from the top of the crust all the way down through the core.
