Question: If a dust devil or strong wind comes along, will it blow away the seismometer? How is it secured? TIA.
-
The seismometer is pretty heavy (30 kg, or 65 lb) and the Martian atmosphere is much thinner than Earth’s. The instrument’s weight and low-profile wind shield will be enough to keep it in place.
