It should be called “Women’s right to choose”

The language is important: 'We are now asked: Is this declaration of rights more than an idealized aspiration?... do the substantive rights include a woman's right to make decisions about her body, including the decision whether to continue her pregnancy? We answer... "Yes."

Proud to be a Kansan today.

i don’t understand the legality of this. If RvW was revoked by SCOTUS, then how could a state constitution overrule that. A state can’t legalize slavery.
-
It probably has to do with the Constitution? Slavery was overturned by the 13th amendment to the Constitution, but abortion isn't (explicitly) mentioned in it or an amendment, which maybe means states' laws have ultimate rule? I don't know.
-
Ohhhhh, solid point

-
It’s more a legal +/- issue. Slavery is a legal positive, ie pushing an action onto everybody regardless of choice to participate. Roe is a legal negative, in that it removes an action and lets everybody choose to participate. So in the absence of Roe, states can choose to act.
-
There is currently no national law, so the states can do whatever they want. Before Roe, it was on a state-by-state basis. Roe affirmed that all people have the right to an abortion, creating a national right. If Roe goes away, it goes back to state-by-state basis.

It’s a woman’s choice yes but we can not keep treating it like a valid form of birth control my wife worked for Planned Parenthood and the people that get more than one abortion is ridiculous and they give you a year worth of free birth control so no excuse after having one
-
And men could wear condoms, but I never see that as part of the conversation.
-
I think all men who’ve gone through puberty should have mandatory vasectomies. Poof, unplanned pregnancies are down to almost zero!
-
What, don’t you want to stop abortions? That would be the most effective way to do it. We don’t knock *ourselves* up, after all.
-
you are just a fucking idiot
-
Why would any man ever even consider having sex without a condom unless he was specifically trying to get a woman pregnant? Can you think of any reason?
-
Some of us can. It’s because a lot of men would happily risk women’s health if they can stick their unwrapped penises in her.https://twitter.com/designmom/status/1040363431893725184?s=21 …
