My elderly father had the flu a couple years ago and nearly died. He could not return to assisted living immediately and needed weeks of rehab in skilled nursing. (He got better.) Can skilled-nursing facilities handle a burst of recovering covid patients?

This has been on my mind a lot lately. No drugs, no nursing support? Difficulty getting oxygen and DME delivered because resources are diverted? It was hellish even with those things in place to support us.
