Nicholas. I just really want to say I appreciate how your research on social contagion separates stigma from explanation. I particularly like how you modelled weight LOSS as well as weight gain.pic.twitter.com/E5EoyQeHbx

It happened years ago at my all-girl school, with a few cases of severe anorexia nervosa, then a load of imitators who refused to eat at school, maybe lost a few pounds but ultimately didn’t last the course. Meanwhile the original, true cases went from bad to worse, very sadly.

Exactly the same at my all girls school, sadly the school refused to acknowledge it or recognise it & nothing was done so it lasted over 10 years - each new year coming into the high school was affected - I’ve heard it remained a problem until they got a new headmistress

Wokeness is a social contagion and should be studied as such.

I suppose that all religions operate under a contagion principle. The ideas must jump from one mind to the other while preserving their integrity so that they don’t degrade after several jumps. the must also be comptible with different mind states.
