The problem is not that there are differences between males and females, the problem is the Value we put on those differences... Ie valuing male things more than female, just because our society is more patriarchal and thus biased towards male preferences and abilities.

Chimps aren’t monkeys. It does make you wonder for example if this effect is diminished in bonobos or new world monkeys where [physical] sexual dimorphism is diminished.
-
Yes. I had the same thought. The cladistics of play (and the possible gendering of play) would be fascinating. I suspect bonobos would be as you suggest.

So “gender is a social construct” is contradicted by science and evolution. Good luck with that one, intersectionalists.
-
Yes you’re exactly right. It’s either 100% one way or 0% the other. There is no way, for example, 10% of biological characteristics can be exaggerated to construct rigid social boundaries that have lifetime consequences. You’re a damn genius.

Omigosh! The patriarchy is so prevalent, it’s seeped into the consciousness of animals, & even female *monkeys* have internalized misogyny!

Quick, someone notify @TitaniaMcGrath, so she can write healing poems to the goddess for strength! ;D - Još 3 druga odgovora
