  3. HUD is resisting calls to withdraw their proposal that would change . HUD's proposed change would require plaintiffs to meet a five-step threshold to prove unintentional discrimination, replacing the current three-step threshold.

    Now they have an even bigger outbreak at the Ouachita River Unit, which houses many of the most medically vulnerable incarcerated people in the state. 1,162 people have tested positive, and two have died so far this month.

    We () sued Arkansas in April over their failure to keep incarcerated people safe from COVID-19. At the time, Arkansas had one of the worst outbreaks in any facility at the country at Cummins Unit. Arkansas said they could keep people at other facilities safe.

    🚨🚨: AL, GA, SC, MS, and LA have all ended their moratoriums on evictions and utility shutoffs. Many families are now at risk of being evicted from their homes and put in the impossible situation of trying to fight without running water or electricity.

    On May 31, used military-style munitions on children &the elderly in a predominantly-Black community for no apparent reason. Kitty Heite was helping protect children from gas canisters that day: "The expressions on those girls faces is a thing I will never forget."

    TODAY: filed suit w/ for PPD's attack of a predominantly Black neighborhood in West Philly Officers shot tear gas down residential streets. One client was inside when her kids asked why their eyes were burning, as teargas entered their home.

    The images from that day look like a war scene and have stayed with our clients—residents of the community who were impacted while walking home, sitting on their porches, or even inside their homes. Black people deserve to feel safe in our own communities. .
