So people stop leaving comments when’s it’s clear they have not watched the video

You're thinking too much about being nitpicky and not more like your fans, you'll be shooting yourself in the foot like that, if it was a livestream would you want to be basically muted for 5 minutes just to say hello, everybody would leave by the time they can comment.

Theres a difference between videos and livestreams though. As a content creator that puts effort into their videos nothing more irritating than spending 3-6 hours on a video and having someone "watch" a 6-10 minute video and commenting "wow great video" in the first 20 seconds.

I mean that fine, who's loss is that? Nobody's, sometimes they say that because ofc if they like you, a great video is what they expect, and when a new person sees that comment they'll want to see it through, the more comments and engagement you have in a small span the better.

That's true, but there wouldn't be any loss if there was a watch limit before commenting though if you think about it. Those people that like you will watch the entire video anyways, and people that see the comments whether they want to comment to argue or not will still watch.

There would be, the average rate of engagement would go down, this affects the overall views your video will receive, you won't be suggested as much compared to a video that already has hundreds of comments in a couple minutes.

But if it affects everyone the engagement would be a minimal difference if you already have an audience, the views would still be the same if they click on your video.

You're not understanding me, it does effect you whether you have an audience already or not it hinders the ability for the video to grow, say I upload two videos with similar content, the video with this proposed feature will not be recommended 2 current or non subs as much.

How so though? It wouldn't be the first time Youtube changed the Algorithm. I'm sure even with a change like this, Youtubers will still grow + there videos will still be recommended due to the fact that
@TeamYouTube would keep the change in mind when reconfiguring the system.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
They won't even admit their site is literally broken because they tried removing googleplus from their code and don't know how to fix it
