It's unreal how someone can point out an objective part of a whole situation and bring to light different aspects of it only for the online mobs to swarm them and distort their opinions as hateful or harmful. Learn to have a constructive argument and understand how opinions work.
It's actually embarrassing how often I see "reputable" figures seemingly disregard what people say to focus in on one phrase and use it to disregard the entire point. It's a form of word policing I'd argue and it's pretty ridiculous.
Also please stop throwing around terms like sexist and all that one people who actually aren't. Sometimes a gender or something is relevant to the conversation at hand and can be mentioned. Let's punish bad people, not those looking to learn and converse.
I'm ready for this whole tweet chain to go unnoticed because most if not all of the people that see this tweet and do what I mentioned will blatantly ignore it. Expect someone new getting "canceled" in a few weeks for trying to speak up on something relevant.

I'm all for actively punishing those who do legitimately bad things. But I've seen people straight up call others terrible and lowkey attack them for pointing out names of people and using factual statements in their arguments. What kinda shit is that?

Cancel culture is just one of the most cancerous things on the internet now. It's like as soon as someone has a differing opinion people are instantly trying to cancel them. I get it when it's severe like sexual predators but man, I see people getting canceled for no reason
