As the shutdown hits two weeks, it's important to remember what Trump said Dec. 11. Trump: If we don't get what we want, one way or the other... I will shut down the government ... So I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I'm not going to blame you for it.

Nancy Pelosi has been married for 55 years, has had five children, and currently has eight grandchildren. She just doesn't measure up to the traditional family values of past Republican Speakers like Newt Gingrich and Dennis Hastert.

Shit, you could’ve told me that video of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a commercial for the Gap and I would’ve believed you... Am I missing something? Hell, when the First Lady was that age she was probably giving handjobs to hoteliers and goin topless for a few tolars...

“Do you solemnly swear that you will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic?” Every Congress member who just took the oath has already broken it by refusing to defend America against and Russia.

Today, the 116th Congress was sworn in. This is one of the most youthful, diverse, and NRA-money free groups in history. We are confident that these new lawmakers will craft legislation to help create a safer America. 🇺🇸

On this historic day in Congress, it was my privilege to cast the decisive 218th vote required to elect @NancyPelosi Speaker of the House. How cool is that?

It’s January 3rd, and I am proud to support as the Speaker of the House to make sure there is something called Congress that doesn’t look the other way while our president steals from the very people who elected him. It’s always a woman who cleans up a man’s mess.

NBC: What's it like to negotiate with him? Pelosi: "When you're negotiating with someone, you have to know— you stipulate to some fact. It's hard to do that with the president, because he resists science, evidence, data, truth… It's hard to pin the president down on the facts."

During today’s meeting between , myself & other Democratic leaders, we asked the President to open up the government – giving him a path Republicans have supported previously. Why would he not do it?

If the House files articles of impeachment against Trump (which only requires a simple majority vote on each charge), he will resign. He will NEVER allow himself to go to public trial in the Senate. Risk of public humiliation far too great.
